Stabilized Oxychloro Complex (SOC)

Stabilized Oxychloro Complex (SOC)

Nano Silver

Filo life sciences manufactures and supplies finest grade nano-materials and Stabilized Oxychloro Complex using the most advanced chemical method for nano-structured material processing to form colloid particles. We are the leading suppliers of Stabilized Oxychloro Complex (SOC).  SOC is a combination of chlorine dioxide, chlorite and chlorate which causes oxidation of intracellular lipids and glutathione, interrupting vital enzymes for cell function and maintenance. When exposed to light, SOC degrades to water, oxygen, sodium, and chlorine free radicals. Chlorine free radicals are thought to inhibit microorganism protein synthesis within cells by way of glutathione oxidation, which causes microbe cell death. It is effective at unusually low concentrations. It has demonstrated antimicrobial activity against bacteria, viruses and some fungi. Because of its propensity to generate free radicals, it is an effective oxidizer and also breaks down rapidly when exposed to the ocular surface. SOC, a non-irritating preservative is useful for ophthalmic products used chronically or with a compromised ocular surface. Non-irritating preservatives are especially needed for ophthalmic products when the treatment is chronic or when the ocular surface is compromised as in dry eye.

We manufacture Stabilized Oxychloro Complex (Antimicrobial Preservative) in liquid form.

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS:

  • Stabilized Oxychloro Complex: min 25 mg. per 1 ml.
  • Specific Gravity: <1.15
  • pH: >9

Properties of Stabilized Oxychloro Complex:

  • Stabilized Oxychloro Complex is an oxidative (antimicrobial) preservative comprising of an equilibrium mixture of oxychloro species, predominantly chlorite (at 99.5%), chlorate (at ˜0.5%) and traces of chlorine dioxide.
  • Stabilized Oxychloro Complex is used in eye drops as a gentle preservative that converts to sodium and chloride ions, oxygen and water on the ocular surface and is well tolerated in comparison to BAK and leaves no preservative residue in the eye.
  • Stabilized oxychloro complex has been shown to be well tolerated by the ocular surface. Even at very low concentrations of SOC (0.005%), the antimicrobial activity is broad. SOC has been shown to lack cytotoxicity in vivo. The antimicrobial effects are broad and include antibacterial, antifungal and antiviral effects.
  • Stabilized Oxychloro Complex Solution is a clear, colorless to very light yellow liquid, and has a slight chlorine like odour.

SOLUBILITY

  • Completely Soluble in water.

IDENTIFICATION

  • Stabilized Oxychloro Complex solution responds to all tests for Chlorite as described by the qualitative analysis standards.
  • Stabilized Oxychloro Complex solution is alkaline.
